Disinfect items
The steam oven can be used to disin‐
fect baby bottles and other containers
so that at the end of the programme
they are as germ free as they would
have been had they been boiled. Check
beforehand that all parts, teats etc. are
declared by the manufacturer to be
heat resistant to 100 °C and also that
they can withstand hot steam.
Dismantle, clean and thoroughly rinse
baby bottles. All parts of the bottles
must be completely dry before they are
reassembled to keep them germ free.
Procedure
Place the individual parts on the rack
or in a perforated container (on their
sides or with the opening facing
downwards) ensuring that they do
not touch one another to allow hot
steam to reach them from all sides.
Place the rack or the container on the
second shelf level.
