• Remove all cables connected to the CPU board.
• If the board is fitted with an RTC, remove it and fit it to the
replacement CPU board.
• Remove the four self-tapping Posidrive screws that hold the
CPU board unit.
• Lift the rear part of the CPU board unit so as to disengage the
plastic pin that protrudes from the bottom plate and runs through
a hole at the bottom of the rear plate.
• Carefully tilt the CPU board unit outwards so as to disengage the
headlift shaft that runs through the front of the CPU board.
• Carefully pull the CPU board unit rearwards until it comes free
and lift it out of the electronics compartment.
To fit a new CPU board, proceed as follows:
• Check that the mains voltage strap is fitted correctly (see chapter
11.3.
• Check that all cables are free and will not become inaccessible
when the CPU board is fitted.
• Place the CPU board unit loosely inside the electronics compart-

• Connect the printhead cable to J9 on the CPU board. Pull at the
cable from the media compartment so the cable will reach the
printhead without becoming too tight.
• Carefully press down the CPU board unit while checking that the
headlift shaft becomes aligned with the hole in the CPU board
and that the pin on the bottom plate fits into the hole in the rear
plate.
