3. MAINTENANCE

The oil pressure inside the head must always be completely released before discon-
necting the head from the hose.
All maintenance operations must be performed with the head disconnected from
the hydraulic pump hose.
The head is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points should help to maintain the optimum performance
of the tool.
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Avoid putting the head on muddy or dusty ground. Any dirt particles may score the ram
and create oil leaks.
Every day, after use, the head must be wiped with a clean cloth, taking care to remove
any residual particles, especially around the moving parts.
From time to time dip the cutting head into a kerosene bath or in a mild cleaning agent to
remove dirt particles. After this operation, the head must be dried carefully.
Lubricate blade pivot (22) with some drops of oil.
3.2) Replacement of the automatic coupler
To replace the automatic coupler proceed as follows:
– Remove the old coupler
– Carefully clean the thread to remove the old sealant
– Apply tefl on tape to the thread.
– Fit the new automatic coupler and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
3.3) Storage
When not in use, the head should be stored
and transported in the steel case, to prevent
damage. Steel case: VAL 096;
Size 450x265x145 mm (17.7x10.4x5.7 in.);
weight 6,8 kg (15 lbs).

4. BLADE REPLACEMENT

(Ref. to Fig. 1, page 17)
After extensive use, the blades may become blunt or damaged by incorrect use of the
cutting head. To change the blades, proceed as follows:
4.1) Left blade (18)
– Remove circlip (24) and partially extract the blade pivot (22).
– Remove the blade (18) from the pivot (22) and slide the blade of from pivot (16).
– Slot the new blade onto pivot (16), insert blade pivot (22) and fi t the circlip (24).
4.2) Lama destra (23)
– Togliere uno degli anelli elastici (24) dal perno lame (22) che può così essere sfi lato
parzialmente per un tratto suffi ciente a liberare completamente la sola lama da sostituire.
– La lama, ormai liberata dal perno (22), può facilmente essere sfi lata dall'altro perno di
rotazione (16) essendo la relativa sede realizzata con asola aperta.
– Smontare il guida lama (20) dalla lama danneggiata svitando le 4 viti (21).
– Inserire dapprima l'asola della nuova lama nel perno di rotazione (16) indi bloccarla
nella sua posizione di lavoro inserendo a fondo il perno lame (22) e relativo anello
elastico (24).
– Rimontare il guida lama (20) sulla nuova lama.

- numero di codice del componente
- denominazione del componente
- tipo della testa
- numero di matricola della testa

fornirà le istruzioni necessarie per l'invio dell'utensile alla nostra Sede; se possibile, allegare
copia del Certifi cato di Collaudo a suo tempo fornito dalla
in mancanza di altri riferimenti, indicare la data approssimativa di acquisto.
