3. CONDUCTOR ASSEMBLY
3.1)
Insert the special bolt (with recessed head) through the copper bush. The screw thread should
protrude from the flange side of the bush; the recessed bolt head will tighten onto the web
of the rail and not onto the bush (Fig. 8).
3.2)
Crimp the lug onto the conductor. Assemble the lug to the flange of the bush over the pro-
truding bolt.
3.3)
Fit the flat washer and the self-locking nut (Fig. 9).
4. WARNING
The tool is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points, should help to maintain the optimum performance of the tool.
4.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Every day, after use, the tool must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residual,
especially close to pivots and moveable parts.
4.2) Storage
(Ref. to Fig. 11)
When not use, the tool should be stored and transported in the steel case, to prevent damage.
Steel case: VAL HTEP: size 465x193x61 mm (18.3x7.6x2.4 in.); weight 2,5 kg (5.5 lbs).
The case will also store the "GO/NO GO" gauge CAL... and the two plungers OG...
4.3) Flexible hose
The flexible hose is designed for high-pressure operation and should not be tightly bent, knotted,
kinked or squashed.
Take care when storing the pump in the plastic case, the hose should be coiled in wide loops.
High pressure flexible hoses are subject to a natural ageing process which can result in a re-
duction in performance potentially affecting safety of the operator. As a result their life span is limited.
In order to ensure safe use of their units, CEMBRE recommends replacing the hose within 10 years
from the date printed on the fittings.
Before using the tool always check the integrity of the flexible hose and the quick couplers
making sure there are no abrasions, cuts, deformations or swellings.

5. MAINTENANCE

Air in the hydraulic circuit may affect the performance of the tool; e.g. no ram advancement, slow
advancement of the ram; ram pulsating.
In this case proceed as follows:
