How to Copy Something to a Diskette

Taking Care of Diskettes
To protect the data on your diskettes:
Store your diskettes in a suitable container to protect them and
keep them clean. You can use the boxes in which the diskettes
were supplied, or you can purchase special containers from
your computer store.
Do not slide back the protective metal cover.
Do not touch the magnetic surface of a diskette. Fingerprints
can prevent the drive from reading the data held on a diskette.
Do not twist or bend a diskette.
Keep diskettes at room temperature and don't expose them to
direct sunlight. Otherwise data may be lost.
Do not place heavy objects on your diskettes.
Do not eat, smoke or use erasers near your diskettes. Foreign
particles inside a diskette's protective jacket can damage its
surface.
Keep your diskettes away from speakers, radios, television sets
and other sources of magnetic fields which could damage the
data on the diskettes.
If a diskettes is dirty, clean it with a soft cloth moistened in
water. Do not use cleaning fluids.
How to Copy Something to a Diskette
Diskettes provide an easy means of transferring files from one
computer to another. Copying a file to a diskette also gives you a
backup copy in case something happens to the original on your
hard disk. This section describes how to use the My Computer
