Using Auto Rec Start & Track Increment
Recording can be started automatically, and track numbers incremented automatically
using the Auto Rec/Track function, which monitors the selected input source and starts
recording from Record Standby mode when the signal level exceeds the specified
threshold, and subsequently increments the track number when the signal level exceeds
the specified threshold after being below it for three or more seconds.
Auto Rec/Track cannot be used with Sync Recording.
The following illustration shows the procedure for recording with the Auto Rec/Track
function.

The Utility Auto Rec/Track parameter is used to set the threshold level.
Use the [UTILITY] button to select "TRACK INC dB."

The UTILITY indicator lights up and the Auto Rec/Track setting appears on the display.
Use the [PREV] or [NEXT] button to set the Auto Rec/Track parameter.

Press and hold the [UTILITY] button, or press another button to cancel Utility.

From stop, press the [REC] button to engage Record Standby mode.

Press the [AUTO] button to turn on the Auto Rec/Track function.

The AUTO indicator lights up.
When the input signal level exceeds the specified threshold, recording starts automati-
cally. When the signal level exceeds the specified threshold after being below it for three
or more seconds, the track number is incremented automatically.
If the level of the input signal is below the specified threshold for 10 seconds or more,
recording stops, and the Rec Mute and Fade Out functions, if set, are not processed.
The index number can be incremented manually by pressing the [INDEX INC] button.
The track number cannot be incremented manually when using the Auto Rec/Track
function.
Press the [AUTO] button again to cancel the Auto Rec/Track function.
