Using the Parallel Port

The PARALLEL port is a general purpose interface that provides remote control access
to various CDR1000 functions, including Play, Pause, Stop, Record Standby, and Track
Increment. By using custom built switches and cables, it can be used for simultaneous
control of several CDR1000s in a multiple disc recording, or disc duplication system.
In addition to receiving trigger signals, the CDR1000 also outputs trigger signals when
the following functions are operated: Play, Pause, and Stop.
The PARALLEL port has lowest priority in the CDR1000 control hierarchy, with the
front panel controls having top priority: Front Panel > Footswitch > Remote Controller
> PARALLEL port. All this means is that if, for example, the front panel [PLAY] button
is pressed while a Stop trigger signal is received at the PARALLEL port, the CDR1000
ignores the trigger signal and starts playback.
The following diagram shows a switching arrangement for the input triggers.
