Floppy Disk Drive

Removing the Floppy Disk Drive
To remove the floppy disk drive, follow the steps below and refer to Figures 4-17 and 4-18.
1. Turn off the power to the computer, then disconnect the AC power cord and all
external cables connected to the computer.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional memory module, optional PCMCIA card,
keyboard, hard disk drive, top cover and display assembly as described in Sections
4.2 through 4.7.
3. Disconnect the FDD cable from PJ4 on the system board, then remove three
M2.5x6 screws on the FDD bracket (Figure 4-17).
4. Remove the FDD front cover and lift out the FDD from the system unit (Figure 4-
17).
