Creating recovery DVDs/media To purchase an optional external writable optical disk drive or a USB Flash drive, visit the Toshiba Web site at accessories.toshiba.com. It is strongly recommended that you create recovery DVDs/media. This will enable you to return your system to its out-of-box state, if necessary. -

Moving the computer Removing memory media Prepare the card for removal by clicking on the Show hidden icons button ( ), if necessary, in the notification area and then selecting the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon. - Page 25 Changing the main battery When your main battery has run out of power, you have two options: plug in the AC adaptor or install a charged main battery. Never short circuit the battery pack by either accidentally or intentionally bringing the battery terminals in contact with another conductive object.

(Sample Illustration) Removing the battery If the battery is leaking or its case is cracked, put on protective gloves to handle it, and discard it immediately. Always dispose of used battery packs in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

If a battery is leaking or damaged, replace it immediately. Use protective gloves when handling a damaged battery. To replace the main battery, use an identical battery that you can purchase through the Toshiba Web site at accessories.toshiba.com. A reverse polarity condition should be avoided with all batteries. - Page 28 Taking care of your battery Operate the computer on battery power for five minutes. If the battery pack has at least five minutes of operating time, continue operating until the battery pack is fully discharged.
