3.17 Head Cleaning
3.17.1 Program Description
This program cleans the heads in the FDD by executing a series of head load/seek and read
operations. A cleaning kit is necessary to perfonn this program.
3.17.2 Operations
1. Selecting test 4 from the Diagnostic Menu and pressing
Enter
displays the
following messages:
DIAGNOSTICS - FLOPPY DISK HEAD CLEANING
vx.xx
Mount cleaning disk(s) on drive(s).
Press any key when ready.
2.
Remove the Diagnostics Disk from the FDD and insert the cleaning disk and
press
Enter.
3. When the cleaning start message appears, the FDD head cleaning has begun.
4. The display automatically returns to the Diagnostics Menu when the program is
finished.
