3.1 The Diagnostic Test
This part explains how to use the T4400SXC's Diagnostic Test program to test the functions
of the T4400SXC's hardware modules. The Diagnostics test programs consist of 18
programs that are divided into the Service Program Module (Diagnostic Menu) and the Test
Program Module (Diagnostic Test Menu).
The Diagnostic Menu consists of the following eight functions:
1. DIAGNOSTIC TEST
2. HARD DISK FORMAT
3. HEAD CLEANING
4. LOG UTll..ITIES
5. RUNNING TEST
6. FDD UTll..ITIES
7. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
8. SETUP
The Diagnostic Test Menu contains the following ten functional tests:
1. SYSTEM TEST
2. MEMORY TEST
3. KEYBOARD TEST
4. DISPLA Y TEST
5.
FLOPPY DISK TEST
6.
PRINTER TEST
7.
ASYNCTEST
8.
HARD DISK TEST
9. REAL TIMER TEST
10. NDPTEST
To execute the T4400SXC Diagnostic test programs you will need the following equipment to
perform some of the tests:
1. The T4400SXC Diagnostics Disk (all tests)
2. A formatted working disk for the floppy disk drive test (all tests)
3. A cleaning disk kit to clean the floppy disk drive heads (test 3 Head Cleaning)
4. A printer wraparound connector for the printer wrap-around test (test 6 Printer
test)
5. An RS-232-C wraparound connector for the RS-232-C pon wraparound test
(ASYNC test)
