Click OK to close the Preferences dialog with your scan settings applied and go back to the scan job, or you
can click the Customize list icon to edit the Available Applications list.

Resetting All-In-One software settings to defaults

From the Finder desktop, double-click the Lexmark 5000 Series folder.

Double-click the Lexmark 5000 Series Center icon.

Click Defaults.

Performing scanning and related tasks

Scanning a document

Make sure the printer is connected to a computer, and both the printer and the computer are on.

Load an original document facedown into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
For help on loading a document into the ADF, see "Loading original documents into the Automatic Document
Feeder".

From the control panel, press Scan Mode.

Press or repeatedly until the destination to which you want to scan appears.

Press Start Color or Start Black.

From the dialog, select Preview.

Reload the document into the ADF, and then click Close on the reminder dialog.
Note: Click on the check box on the reminder dialog if you do not want this dialog to reappear until you reopen
the application.

To edit, crop, or adjust the brightness of the document, click Scan Settings on the Scan dialog. For help on how
to customize scan settings, see "Customizing scan settings from the Scan dialog".

Click Scan on the Scan dialog.

From the "Save As" menu, enter a file name.

From the Where pop-up menu, choose a destination for the scanned item.

From the "Format for" pop-up menu, choose a file type.

Click OK.
