OIL PAN AND OIL STRAINER

REMOVING THE OIL PAN

1. Remove:
S oil level switch 1
S oil pan 2
S gasket
S dowel pins
NOTE:
Loosen each bolt 1/4 of a turn at a time, in
stages and in a crisscross pattern. After all of
the bolts are fully loosened, remove them.

CHECKING THE OIL PUMP

1. Check:
S oil pump drive gear 1
S oil pump driven gear 2
S oil pump housing 3
S oil pump housing cover 4
2. Measure:
S inner-rotor-to-outer-rotor-tip clearance A
S outer-rotor-to-oil-pump-housing
S oil-pump-housing-to-inner-rotor-and-out-

3. Check:
S oil pump operation

CHECKING THE RELIEF VALVE

1. Check:
S relief valve body 1
S relief valve 2
S spring 3
S O-ring 4

Cracks/damage/wear ! Replace the de-
fective part(-s).

Out of specification ! Replace the oil
pump.
Inner rotor
Outer rotor
Oil pump housing
Inner-rotor-to-outer-rotor-tip
clearance
0.03 X 0.09 mm Limit 0.15 mm
Outer-rotor-to-oil-pump-
housing clearance
0.03 X 0.08 mm Limit 0.15 mm
Oil-pump-housing-to-inner-
rotor-and-outer-rotor clearance
0.03 X 0.08 mm Limit 0.15 mm
Unsmooth ! Repeat steps (1) and (2) or
replace the defective part(-s).
Damage/wear ! Replace the defective
part(-s).
