Notes on playing DTS (digital theater system)
sound tracks on a CD (compact disc)
• When playing DTS (digital theater system)-encoded
CDs (compact disc), excessive noise will be heard from
the analogue stereo jacks. To avoid possible damage to
the audio system, the consumer should take proper
precautions when the analogue stereo jacks of the
recorder are connected to an amplification system. To
enjoy DTS (digital theater system) Digital Surround™
playback, an external 5.1-channel decoder system must
be connected to the digital jack of the recorder.
• Set the sound to "Stereo" using the AUDIO (audio)
button when you play DTS (digital theater system)
sound tracks on a CD (compact disc) (page 59).
Notes on playing DVDs (digital video disc) with
a DTS (digital theater system) sound track
DTS (digital theater system) audio signals are output
only through the DIGITAL OUT (digital out)
(COAXIAL (coaxial) or OPTICAL (optical)) jack.
When you play a DVD (digital video disc) with DTS
(digital theater system) sound tracks, set "DTS" to "On"
in "Audio" setup (page 97).
