You can enter up to 64 characters for a DVD (digital
video disc)'s disc name. The disc name may not appear
when the disc is played on other DVD (digital video disc)
equipment.

DVD (digital video disc)

Finalizing is necessary when you play discs
recorded with this recorder on other DVD (digital
video disc) equipment.
When you finalize a DVD+RW (digital video
disc-rewritable, plus RW), DVD-RW (Video
mode) (digital video disc-rewritable, minus RW
(Video mode)), DVD+R (digital video disc-
recordable, plus R), or DVD-R (digital video disc-
recordable, minus R), a DVD (digital video disc)
menu will be automatically created, which can be
displayed on other DVD (digital video disc)
equipment.
Before finalizing, check the differences between
the disc types in the table below.
* 1 DVD+RW (digital video disc-rewritable, plus RW).
* 2 DVD-RW (VR mode) (digital video disc-rewritable,
minus RW (Video Recording mode)).
* 3 DVD-RW (Video mode) (digital video disc-
rewritable, minus RW (Video mode)).
* 4 DVD+R (digital video disc-recordable, plus R).
* 5 DVD-R (digital video disc-recordable, minus R).
Differences between the disc types

Discs are automatically finalized when

equipment, or if the recording time is
short. You can edit or record on the
disc even after finalizing.
