Problem

Causes
No electricity at the power
outlet.

Defective interlock switch.
Defective power supply
board (KP-5059).
Poor contact in the main
motor connector terminals.
Broken main motor gear.
Defective main motor.
Defective engine board
(KP-5061).
Broken scanner motor coil.
Poor contact in the scan-
ner motor connector termi-
nals.
Broken Cooling fan coil.
Poor contact in the Cool-
ing fan connector termi-
nals.
Broken feed clutch coil.
Poor contact in the feed
clutch connector terminals.
Defective engine board
(KP-5061).
Check procedures/corrective measures
Measure the input voltage.
Check the contact between the power plug and the outlet.
Check the front cover.
Check for continuity. If none, replace the cord.
Check for continuity across the contacts. If none, replace the
main switch.
Check for continuity. If none, remove the cause of blowing and
replace the fuse.
Check for continuity across the contacts of switch. If none, re-
place the switch.
With AC present, check for 24 V DC at CN2-6 and 5 V DC at
CN2-1 on the power supply board (KP-5059). If none, replace
the power supply board (KP-5059).
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the con-
nector cable. If none, remedy or replace the cable.
Check visually and replace the main motor if necessary.
Run maintenance item U030 and check if the main motor oper-
ates and replace the main motor if necessary.
Run maintenance item U030 and check if YC4-9 on the engine
board (KP-5061) go low. If not, replace the engine board (KP-
5061).
Check for continuity across the coil. If none, replace the scanner
motor.
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the con-
nector cable. If none, remedy or replace the cable.
Check for continuity across the coil. If none, replace Cooling fan.
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the con-
nector cable. If none, remedy or replace the cable.
Check for continuity across the coil. If none, replace the feed
clutch.
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the con-
nector cable. If none, remedy or replace the cable.
Run maintenance item U032 and check if YC4-1 on the engine
board (KP-5061) goes low. If not, replace the engine board (KP-
5061).
