Screw in the two external mounting screws that are located on both sides of the 25-pin serial
connector.
Step 10. Replace the iLO MP hardware connector.
Step 11. Verify the iLO MP card replacement by using the utilities identified in Appendix C, "Utilities," on
page 167.
Use the iLO MP commands to verify operation.

Removing and Replacing the iLO MP Battery

Systems with an iLO MP card have two batteries. Systems without iLO MP hardware have only one battery.
The main server battery is located on the system board. The iLO MP battery is located on the iLO MP
hardware.
Battery Notice
This product contains a Lithium battery.
WARNING
Lithium batteries may explode if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, or
dispose of in a fire. Failure to observe this warning could result in personal injury or
damage to equipment.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries
according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Removing the iLO MP Battery
Step 1. Record the iLO MP configuration settings from your iLO MP before beginning this task.
Step 2. Perform all of the steps described in the procedure for "Removing and Replacing iLO MP
Hardware" on page 87.
Step 3. The battery for the iLO MP card is located on the underside of the board.
Step 4. Lift up on the battery and push on the back of it with a flat-head screwdriver to remove the battery
from its holder. See Figure 4-48 for more information.
CAUTION
Chapter 4
Only lift the battery high enough to clear the holder. Excessive stress on the battery
holder retaining clip may damage the clip.
