B. Replacing system components
B.1

Field Replaceable Units

You can remove and install the following 8550 WSG components:
8550 WSG
power supply
hard drive
The 8550 WSG comes equipped with two hard drives and six blanks.
You can replace these hard drives as a Field Replaceable Unit.
The 8550 WSG also comes equipped with redundant power supplies
(both power supply bays are loaded). You can remove and install a
power supply as a Field Replaceable Unit.
Note —
Alcatel-Lucent product warranty is voided.

Powering down the 8550 WSG

Use this procedure to power down the 8550 WSG.
Danger —
damage to the equipment, remove the power cord from the
8550 WSG. After you press the Power On button to shut down the
8550 WSG, portions of the power supply and some internal circuitry
remain active until the AC power is removed.
Note —
your configuration files and export your audit files from the
8550 WSG before you power down the 8550 WSG.

Procedure B-1 To power down the 8550 WSG

If more than one 8550 WSG is installed in the rack, press the UID
button on the front panel of 8550 WSG that is being powered down.
The UID button LED on the front and rear panel of the 8550 WSG
lights up blue.
