Use this procedure to connect the 8550 WSG Ethernet data network
ports to a router or network switch.

1 Connect the 8550 WSG Ethernet data network ports to a router or
network switch. Use straight through Ethernet cables for the
connections.

In a standalone configuration, connect the required data ports
(ports 3 to 6) to the router or network switch, as shown in
Figure 3-6.
In a High Availability configuration, make the following
connections, as shown in Figure 3-7.
i Connect ports 3 and 5 of 8550 WSG 1 to router or network
switch 1.
ii Connect ports 4 and 6 of 8550 WSG 1 to router or network
switch 2.
iii Connect ports 3 and 5 of 8550 WSG 2 to router or network
switch 1.
iv Connect ports 4 and 6 of 8550 WSG 2 to router or network
switch 2.
