4 — Getting started
4.1
Powering up the 8550 WSG
Use this procedure to power up the 8550 WSG. The system takes
approximately 15 minutes to boot as it performs the system self-tests.

Procedure 4-1 To power up the 8550 WSG

Press the Power On button.

After the system boots up, check the status of the Power On button
LED on the front panel to ensure the system is running properly. See
chapter
4.2

Initializing the 8550 WSG Management Portal

After you have installed and connected the 8550 WSG, you must log
on to the 8550 WSG Management Portal to initialize the system.
Note 1 —
the first time, perform Procedure
address on the PC that connects to the 8550 WSG Management
Portal.

Management Portal, Alcatel-Lucent strongly recommends that you
change the default password. See the OmniAccess 8550 WSG

Procedure 4-2 To log in to the 8550 WSG Management
Portal to initialize the system

Type http://192.168.1.1:8080/webportal/ in your browser address.
The 8550 WSG Management Portal login window appears, as
shown in Figure 4-1.
