SWITCH MAJOR ALARMS 1
These screens display the RCS20 major alarms, and allow the user to mask these alarms. When
an alarm is masked, the error will not be reported on the front panel MAJOR ALARM lamp nor
on the ALARM connector at the rear of the RCS20. The RAM/ROM alarm indicates a failure of
the RCS20 internal memory. The BACKUP UNAVAILABLE alarm indicates that a prime
channel modem has failed, but there was no backup channel modem available for backup, causing
prime channel traffic to be dropped. The BACKUP ERROR alarm indicates that the prime
channel modem configuration could not be loaded to a backup channel modem, thus a required
automatic backup could not take place, causing prime channel traffic to be dropped.
