Remarks
When a hardware failure is detected in initial hardware diagnostics during power-on or system operation, the
degradation involves starting the system with the faulty hardware disconnected.
5.2.3

Configuration rule

The partition configuration rule, which is common to all models, specifies that the following condition must be
satisfied.
- One partition needs one or more available SBs and one or more available LIOBs or LGSPBs.
If the above condition is not satisfied, power-on to the corresponding partition is prohibited. The SAS disk unit and
PCI_Box are not essential to each partition.

The SB, LIOB, and LGSPB have the following relationship.
- For partition resources, an LIOB and LGSPB can be selected.
However, the LGSPB requires the availability of the IOB connected to the GSPB to which the LGSPB
belongs. For example, if IOB#0 is available, both LGSPB_0A and LGSPB_0B are available.
If IOB#0 is not mounted or is degraded, LGSPB_0A is unavailable even if mounted.
- In the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series, an LIOB can be connected to any SB. There is no relationship between
an SB and LIOB.
- An LGSPB is independent in terms of partition granularity, and there is no relationship between an LIOB
and LGSPB.

Home SB

Of the SBs making up a partition, the SB that enables the ICH (Legacy I/O) is called the Home SB. Each partition
always contains one Home SB.
Selecting the Home SB
In a partition consisting of multiple SBs, the Home SB can be set with the MMB Web-UI.
