Introduction to the PRIMEQUEST 1000 Series

The PRIMEQUEST 1000 series is a lineup of servers based on the latest Intel architecture. The servers provide the
highest levels of expandability (scalability), availability, flexibility, and operability. In particular, the machines
incorporate server integration and power-saving technologies, thereby contributing to cost savings and green ICT
systems.

This section describes the features of the PRIMEQUEST 1800E2.
High performance and high scalability (expandability)
- State-of-the-art Intel(R) Xeon processors (E7 family)
- SMPs with up to eight sockets
- QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) delivering up to 6.4 GT/s
- Installation of up to 128 DIMM slots possible with DDR3 1066 Registered DIMM (PC3-8500) memory
- Installation of up to 4 TB of memory capacity possible with 32 GB DIMM memory (PRIMEQUEST 1800E2)
- Installation of up to 40 PCI Express cards possible (including external PCI_Boxes)
High availability
- Memory data protection using ECC, DDDC, and Memory Mirror
- Enhanced fault tolerance for internal paths (retransmission or degradation upon error detection)
- Support of the Reserved SB function that automatically replaces faulty SBs (system boards) with spare SBs
- Support of a degradation function so that the system can operate by isolating faulty CPUs or SBs
- Support of built-in disk array configuration by the array controller function equipped in the SAS unit
- Support of proactive monitoring of HDDs and memory by S.M.A.R.T. and ECC
