5.2

PPAR

The PPAR (Physical Partition) function is a hardware partitioning function that configures physical partitions in
one cabinet to enable flexible system configuration and server integration while maintaining a high degree of failure
isolation.
The PRIMEQUEST 1000 series can change the partition configuration with a static configuration control
function.The function for changing the configuration of each partition is triggered by a power-off, power-on, or
reboot.

The partition granularity of the I/O resource is as follows:
- IOB divided in two (LIOB): 4 PCI Express card slots
- GSPB divided in two (LGSPB): 1 SAS port, 4 GbE (Gigabit Ethernet) LAN ports, and 1 PCI_Box port
The PRIMEQUEST 1800E2/1800E can be divided into a maximum of four partitions.
In all models, the Flexible I/O function can be used to make any combination of the SB, LIOB, and LGSPB.
The following figure shows a conceptual diagram of the partitioning functions.
