PRIMEQUEST 1000 Series General Description
CHAPTER 1 Product Overview
- USER ports ( #0 and #1 ports on the MMB )
These external terminal ports are used to operate and monitor various MMB functions via a LAN. The ports
support 1000Base-T.
- REMCS port ([REMOTE] port on the MMB)
This is a LAN port for REMCS. The port supports 100Base-TX.
- CE port ([LOCAL] port on the MMB)
Field engineers use this port to connect a dedicated maintenance terminal. The port supports 100Base-TX.

PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment)

The PRIMEQUEST 1000 series supports PXE boot through every LAN port on the GSPB (eight ports/GSPB).
Remarks
PXE can be used only in the IPv4 environment.
PXE enables remote management work, such as for starting the system and installing or updating the operating
system.

The PRIMEQUEST 1000 series supports iSCSI connections.

FCoE connection

The PRIMEQUEST 1800E2 supports FCoE connections and FCoE boot.

WOL (Wake On LAN)

The PRIMEQUEST 1000 series supports WOL through every LAN port on the GSPB (IPv4 and IPv6).
WOL is technology for remotely starting the partition that contains the LAN ports on the GSPB.
Remarks
The support for WOL depends on the operating system. For details, see the respective operating system manuals.
