Maintenance Policy/Preventive Maintenance

This section describes maintainability and preventive maintenance in the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series.
Maintainability
In the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series, hot maintenance can be applied to a PSU and fan without stopping system
operation. The PCI Hot Plug function is also used to enable hot maintenance
of the HDD and PCI Express card, thereby realizing high maintainability.
Also, there is no longer any maintenance work requiring devices to be pulled out from the rack. For enhanced
maintainability, maintenance is now performed only from two sides (front/rear).
Support period
The support period of the PRIMEQUEST 1800E2/1800E is five years.
To receive support, the customer needs to conclude a SupportDesk agreement. For details on the SupportDesk

Preventive maintenance
The BBU (battery backup unit) is a service life component. The BBU should be replaced after three years for
preventive maintenance.
