One PCI_Box can accommodate PCI Express cards in up to 12 slots. The system can be expanded flexibly as
needed. The PCI_Box is mounted for use in a 19-inch rack.
The maximum number of PCI_Boxes that can be connected is as follows:
- PRIMEQUEST 1800E2/1800E: 2 boxes
One PCI_Box contains one PEXU (PCI Express unit) equipped with two PCI Express interface connectors. Each
PCI Express connector is placed on an LNKC (link card). Each connector connects one GSPB to its internal PCI
Express switch and in turn to the six PCI Express slots. One PCI_Box has a total of 12 slots.
A PCI Express card set is used to mount PCI Express cards.
PCI_Box control and monitoring uses the signals sent through the cable that connects the PRIMEQUEST 1000
series server to the LNKC.
Hot maintenance can be applied to the following components:
- PCI Express card (PCI Express card set)
- IO_PSU (PSU in a PCI_Box)
- IO_FAN (fan in a PCI_Box)
