Partition management in the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series

A partition is a hardware partition unit with processing unit functions. It consists of multiple SBs and IO Units.
Individual partitions are independent of each other, so each partition can operate as one server with a different
operating system and applications installed. Multiple partitions can thus operate as multiple production systems.

Hardware management in the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series

The MMB manages all the hardware of the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series system.
The MMB can connect to the MMB console, the Field Support Tool (FST), or an external network through a LAN
connection.
The MMB console is used to configure or display each hardware resource.
Field engineers use the FST, which is a console for maintaining PRIMEQUEST 1000 series hardware.
It is also connected to the REMCS (REMote Customer Support System) through an external network or leased line
to enable remote monitoring of unit conditions.
