Riding forward and backward with Ibis 24"

Take the brake off the back wheels. See 'Parking'.
Take the hoops of the back wheels, at both sides, in your hands.
Push the hoops forward or backward with your hands, according to the desired
direction.
Braking and stopping while driving forward or backward
Tightly grasp both hoops.
This will slow down both hoops and decrease the wheelchair's speed, until it comes to
a standstill
By braking in this way, friction is caused between your hands and
the hoops, which will create heat. If you brake too fast, your hands
may become too hot.

Slopes

See fig. 010404030.
Riding up a slope
Riding up a slope is done in the same way as
riding in forward direction.
Slopes with an angle
greater than 5° (angle of
inclination of 9%) may not
be taken.
If you move your
wheelchair yourself,
always make sure you
hold on to the hoops, so
that the wheelchair
cannot start to move by itself.
