8.4.1 Camera Setup, Continued
2. Edit the field as desired for your configuration.
Camera Number - this field cannot be edited. The camera number is the camera
BNC connector number that the camera is physically connected to on the MaxCom
Gold. All changes made (in the fields to the right of the camera number) affect the
camera connected to that BNC connector.
Title – Each camera can be given an alphanumeric title up to 20 characters.
IR Lamps – Point to the down arrow and select Present or Absent
Note: The IR Lamps option is used only with mono/colour Change-Over
RapidDomes. When the light level reduces to a point where colour integration would
become active, the camera automatically changes over to mono. It is expected that
IR lights would be turned on by a light sensor when the light level drops. When the
light level increases sufficiently, the camera automatically changes over to colour.
If IR illumination lamps are present in the system, set the IR Lamps setting to
present. If no IR illumination is present in the system, set to Absent.
Auto 180 – Point to the down arrow and click on Disabled or Enabled. Enabled
turns the auto-180 feature on for the specified camera. Disabled turns the auto-180
feature off for the specified camera. If the Auto-180 feature is enabled, the camera
will automatically pan 180° when an operator is tilting down and reaches the end
stop. If the operator continues tilting down after the camera has panned 180° then
the camera tilts up. This feature is very beneficial if an operator is trying to follow
someone that walks directly under the camera.
Digital Zoom – Point to the down arrow and click on Disabled or Enabled. Enabled
turns the digital zoom feature on for the specified camera. Disabled turns the digital
zoom feature off for the specified camera.
Home Position – Point to the down arrow and click on Tour 1, Preset 0, or None.
The Home function allows the camera to return to a preset or start a tour after a user-
defined period of inactivity (i.e. no keys have been pressed on the keypad, no tour is
being run, or the camera is not performing any other activity).
None – the home function is off.
Tour 1 - If the home setting is set to Tour 1, the camera will start Tour 1 after the
defined period of inactivity.
Preset 0 – if the home setting is set to Preset, the camera will go to preset 1 after the
defined period of inacitivty.
Home Timer (mins) – If tour 1 or preset 0 is selected, the user can define the
amount of inactivity time the camera is to wait before starting the tour or preset. The
timer can be set from 0 to 100 minutes. The default value is 3 minutes. If an illegal
value is entered, the message Amending Illegal Value is displayed.
