8.3.4 User Privileges, Continued
2. Edit the fields as desired. To change the displayed configuration, overwrite the
entries in the fields by typing the desired numbers. The fields in the user privilege
window are as follows.
Password – the password can be any five (5) digits. However, each password must
be unique. To overwrite the default passwords, place the cursor in the field and
enter the desired numbers.
System Reset – Point to the down arrow beside the field and click on YES or NO.
Selecting YES allows the user to reset the system. Selecting NO prevents the user
from resetting the system.
Lock Camera - Point to the down arrow beside the field and click on YES or NO.
Selecting YES allows the user to lock a camera so other operators cannot control it.
Selecting NO prevents the user from locking a camera.
Override - Point to the down arrow beside the field and click on YES or NO.
Selecting YES allows the user to access a camera that has been locked by another
user. If override is disabled (NO), the user cannot access a camera that is locked.
Add Users – Point to the down arrow beside the field and click on YES or NO.
Selecting YES allows the user to add users to the system. Selecting NO prevents
the user from adding users to the system.
View Alarm Log – Point to the down arrow beside the field and click on YES or NO.
Selecting YES allows the user to view the system alarm log. Selecting NO prevents
the user from viewing the system alarm log.
Menu Access Level – Point to the down arrow beside the field and click on None,
Low, Medium, or High. A pass code with a security level of None can select and
control cameras, but cannot access any of the menus to change cameras, monitors
or system parameters. Refer to Table 3 to view the default menu access for security
levels low, medium, and high. The menu access rights for the security levels can
also be modified if desired. Refer to section 8.3.8.

Receive – To transmit the current configuration for user privileges from a
MaxCom Gold to the PC configuration utility, click on the receive button.
Reload – To return the screen to the default configuration or to the configuration
prior to any changes made in an editing session, press the Reload button.
Save – To save the configuration on your PC, click on the Save button.
