3.1.3 Menu Access

Two operators cannot access the programming menus in the MaxCom Gold at the same
time. If one operator is accessing the menus and a second operator tries to access
them, the message, "MENU IN USE" is displayed on the control monitor of the second
operator and a long error beep is produced at the keyboard. The message is displayed
on the screen until the first operator exits the menus even if the second operator selects
a different camera.
Note: If the "MENU IN USE" message is displayed on an operator's control monitor,

3.1.4 PC Configuration

A PC can be connected to the MaxCom Gold to flash upgrade the software or to
reconfigure the MaxCom Gold. If a PC is connected to the MaxCom Gold (at the PC
connector), the keyboard operators cannot control the system. While a PC is connected
to the MaxCom Gold, the keyboards do not make any sounds or respond to any button
presses or joystick movement.
When a PC is connected to the MaxCom Gold, the message, PC CONNECTED, is
displayed on all monitors connected to the MaxCom Gold. The message remains on the
screen until the PC is disconnected.

3.2 PAN AND TILT

Very precise control of the pan and tilt features of the RapidDomes is achieved using the
joystick on the keyboards. The speed of the pan and tilt is relative to the force applied to
the joystick. The further the joystick is moved, the faster the pan or tilt function occurs.
3.3 TURN 180°
This feature allows the operator to follow a person who is walking underneath the
camera. Press the Auto 180° button to pan the camera 180°. The camera pans at the
maximum speed (up to 400° per second) to allow tracking in the opposite direction.

3.4 ZOOM

Rotate the top of the joystick clockwise to zoom in. Rotate the top of the joystick anti-
clockwise to zoom out.
Rev. 1
and the operator tries to control a camera in which another operator is
programming a sector zone, the "MENU IN USE" message is replaced by the
"CAMERA IN USE" message. The "CAMERA IN USE" message is displayed on
the screen until the first operator has completed the programming of the sector
zone or until the second operator changes cameras. When the "CAMERA IN
USE" message is removed, the "MENU IN USE" message returns if the first
operator is still accessing the menus.
