System-Related Operations
• Front-Panel Operation:
REV X.X-Y.Y-Z.Z (for 34970A)
REV X.XX-Y.YY-Z (for 34972A)
Turn the knob to read the firmware revision number for the module
installed in each of the three slots. If a slot does not contain a module,
EMPTY SLOT is displayed.
• Remote Interface Operation: Use the following command to read the
system firmware revision numbers (be sure to dimension a string
variable with at least 40 characters).
*IDN?
The above command returns a string in the form:
HEWLETT-PACKARD,34970A,0,X.X-Y.Y-Z.Z
Agilent Technologies,34972A,0,I.II-O.OO-FP-FPGA

Use the following command to read the firmware revision number of the
module in the specified slot (be sure to dimension a string variable with
at least 30 characters).
SYSTem:CTYPe? {100|200|300}
This command returns a string in the form:
HEWLETT-PACKARD,34901A,0,X.X (for 34970A)
Agilent Technologies,0,0,0 (for 34970A)
