Replacing the Battery

AXD-CP4 (/PB) Battery Replacement

1. Discharge the static electricity from your body by touching a grounded object and unscrew the
faceplate.
2. Carefully insert a flat-blade tool into the release slot on the panel's bezel and remove the
engraved overlay.
3. Removing the main unit:

4. Gently remove the illumination board from the front of the touch panel unit.
5. Remove the four #6-32 mounting screws and carefully pull the touch panel forward until the
unit slides out of the housing.
6. Disconnect all connectors to remove the touch panel from the housing.
7. Flip the touch panel facedown onto a soft cloth and remove the touch overlay's ribbon cable
connectors from the circuit card. Do not remove the cable on the battery side of the circuit
card.
8. Remove the upper circuit card and spacers.
9. Gently rotate the circuit card backward until you can lay it down flat with the battery exposed.
10. Carefully pry the battery out of its socket and insert the new battery.
11. Rotate the circuit card back to the original position and place it on the mini. Insert and tighten
the circuit card spacers.
12. Connect the touch overlay's ribbon cable connector and backlight connector to the circuit card.
13. Return the touch panel to the Backbox or equipment rack and connect the AXlink connector
for approximately 1 minute; remove the connector from the panel again.
14. Insert the four mounting screws and tighten.
15. Insert the button illumination board onto the panel, making sure the pins are not bent into
position.
16. Put the faceplate onto the bezel and make sure both plastic pushbuttons are securely positioned
in the faceplate and the plate is attached securely to the main unit.

From the CB-CP4 conduit/wallbox, carefully unscrew the four-#4 screws from the
threaded inserts located along the sides of the housing. Refer to FIG. 2 on page 3 for
more information.
From solid/flat surface, carefully unscrew the four-#4 screws from the threaded inserts
located along the sides of the housing. Refer to FIG. 5 on page 5 for more information.
From a plasterboard (drywall) surface, carefully unscrew the two screws from the drywall
clips. Once these drywall clips are separated from their screws, the drywall clip set must
be re-order from AMX before the unit can be mounted to this type of surface again. Refer
to FIG. 9 on page 7 for more information.
