Attaching Cords

Cording foot (H)
* Gathering and shirring
Place pearl cotton into center of foot and zig-zag over it.
Secure one end of pearl cotton and pull other end to gather.
Use same method with elastic threads to create shirring.
* Decorative shirring
Experiment with decorative threads, like ribbon thread or metallics.
Place cording into slots and stitch using multi-stitch zigzag.
* Applying trims.
For sewing
one cord
Pass cord along left edge of cording foot and pass top of
cord through the groove located on sole of foot. Then,
lower cording foot.
Secure cord with zigzag stitches of zigzag width (2).
Press reverse stitch button at beginning and end of
sewing to perform back taking.
Pull cord onto wrong side of fabric, make a knot and
trim.
For sewing
three
cords
Pass all cords in cording foot and insert top ends of cords
through grooves located on sole of foot. Then, lower
cording foot.
Secure cords with Multistitch zigzag stitches.
As in the
case of one cord sewing, perform back taking and draw
cords onto wrong side of fabric, make a knot and cut
cords properly.
* For sewing two pieces of cord, pass cords through right
and left grooves located on sole of cording foot.
