Putting Batteries in the Remote Control

To open the I_ttery compartment, push in the tab, then
pull up the lid.
Close the battery compartment lid.
Using the Remote Control
• Do not put objectsbetween the remote control and theVCR.
• Pressthe VCR button,then point the remote control at the VCR's
remote sensor, b efore pressing otherVCR operation buttons.
• PresstheTV button,then point the remote control at the'rV,
before pressingother TV operation buttons.
• Pressthe CBIJDBS button,then point the remote control at the
Cable Box/DBS.before pressingother Cable Box/DBSoperation
button_
Erase Protection
Video cassetteshaverecord tabs to ensurethat recordings are not
erasedaccidentally.

To prevent accidental erasure, break offthe tab with a
screwdriver.
To record again, cover the hole with celloPhane tape.
VCR Maintenance
• Remove any lightadhesivestick-onnotes from the video cassette
before puttingthe cassettein theVCR. Removablelabelscanjam
theVCR.
• Periodicmaintenanceis required to maintainyourVCR's perfor-
mance.YourVCR hasan automatichead cleaner,but the video
headswill eventuallyrequire cleaningor replacement. Cleaningor
replacement of the video headsshouldbe performed only by an
authorized servicecenter.
The remote controland itsbatteries
are supplied.
Do not mix alkalineand manganese
batteries.
Do not mix oldand newbatteries.
