The One-TouchRecording(OTR) functionallowsyou to start an
immediatetimed recording 30 minutesto nine hourslong of the
channelyou are watching.Beforeyou begin,make sure:
• Channelsare set up. De_i/s are on pagesI I - 12.
• The desired recording speed (SP or SLP)hasbeen selectedwith
the SPEEDbutton.Detailsare on pages38 and52.
• There is a tape in theVCR. Make sure the tape'srecord tab is
intact (see pageS) and the tape is longenoughto record the
program(s).If the end of the tape is reachedduringan OTR,
recording will stop.TheVCR will eject the tape and turn itself
off.
• The VCR is inVCR position.(The VCR lightwill appearon the
displaypanelof theVCR when theVCR is inVCR position.If the
VCR lightdoes not appear,presstheVCRJTV button once.)
Starting
an OTR

Press the VCR button.

Use the CH(annel) A/Y
buttons or the Number buttons
to select the channel you want to record.

Press the REC(ord)/OTR
button repeatedly,*until
the
desired recording
length appears briefly on screen and on
the display panel. The O light will flashon the display panel.

Stopping an OTR
To stop anOTR before recording isfinished, p ressthe STOP •
button.
To cancelthe OTR but continuerecording, pressthe
REC(ord)/OTR button until REC appearsin the upper lee corner
of theTV screen.(ON SCREEN MODE cannotbe set to OFE
Detailsare on page 26.) The © light will remain on the display
panel.
Tocheck_e t_me remainingfor an
OTRafter _e OTRisin progress,
pressthe EXIT/STATUS button.
To change the recordinglengthwhile
an OTRisin progress, p ress the
REC(ord)/OTR b uttonuntilthe
desired lengthappearson screen.
If the preset _me for a _mer record-
ingcomesup during an OTR,the
OTRhas priority.
