Turn on the TV and set it to channel 3 or 4, whicheverthe 2 Inse_ta tape.
CH3/CH4 switch on the backof the VCR is set to.

Insert a tape with its record tab intact (details are on page 5) in
theVCR.The power will come on.

Press theVCR button.

If the VCR light appearson the displaypanelof the _;CR,go to step
5. If theVCR light does not appear, press theVCPJTY but-
ton once.

Press the SPEED button until the desired tape speed
appears on-screen.TheVCR will only record in SP or SLP.

Use the CH(annel) A/V buttons or the Number buttons
to select the channel to be recorded.
Press the REC(ord)IOTR button to start recording.The ©
light will appear on the VCR displaypanel.

To pause the recording (for example, during commer-
cials), press the STILL/SLOW button on the remote con-
troI.The •[IF1 lightwi!! appear on the displaypanel.
To resume recording, press the STILL/SLOW button
again. The 0 light will appearon the displaypanel.

Press the STOP V button to stop recording.The C) light will
disappearfrom the "displaypanel.
If the REC(ord)IOTR b uttonis
pressedwhilea tape without a
recordtab is in the VCR, P ROTECT-
EDCASSET-I'E CANNOTRECORD
willappearbriefly on screen. The
VCRwill ejectthe tope.
TheVCRrecords in a preset volume.
If the endof the tape is reached
while recording, t he VCRwill stop
recording, rewindthe tape,then stop.
