Checking the Battery Service Date
Under normal circumstances, replace the BBU every two years. Operating the
Note
disk array in a environment with elevated temperature (above 35
lowers the life expectancy of the BBU. Under these conditions you may need to
replace the battery every six months.
To check the service date on the BBU:
1.
Remove the front cover from the controller enclosure.
2.
Locate the Battery Support Information label on the front of the BBU. See
label has three dates:
– Date of Manufacture - the date the BBU was built at the factory
– Date of Installation - the date the BBU was installed into the controller module
– Replacement Date - the date the BBU should be replaced
3.
Check the replacement date. If it is time to replace the battery, see
(BBU) Removal/Replacement" on page
4.
Reinstall the front cover on the controller enclosure.
