Unpacking the DFE-Diamond Module
Unpack the DFE‐Diamond module as follows:
1. Open the box and remove the packing material protecting the DFE‐Diamond module.
2. Verify the contents of the carton as listed in Table

3. Remove the tape seal on the non‐conductive bag to remove the DFE‐Diamond module.
4. Perform a visual inspection of the DFE‐Diamond module for any signs of physical damage.

xiv for details.

Installing an Optional XFP Module

This section describes how to install an XFP module. For the XFP specifications, refer to
Appendix
To prepare and install an XFP module, proceed as follows:
Preparation
1. Before removing an XFP from the anti‐static packaging, it is recommended that you use an
antistatic wrist strap (not supplied) to prevent damage from static discharge. To use the wrist
strap, refer to the instructions provided with your antistatic wrist strap.
2. Remove the XFP from its packaging.
Installation
To install an XFP module, refer to Figure
1. Hold the XFP so that the connector will seat properly.
2. Carefully align the XFP with the module port slot.
3. Push the XFP into the 7KR4297‐02 or 7KR4297‐04 port slot until the back of the XFP module
faceplate is flush against the 7KR4297‐02 or 7KR4297‐04 front panel.
4. Close the release handle.

Caution: Carefully follow the instructions in this manual to avoid damaging the XFP module and
DFE module.
The XFP module and DFE module are sensitive to static discharges. Use an antistatic wrist strap
and observe all static precautions during this procedure. Failure to do so could result in damage to
the XFP module and DFE module. Always leave the XFP module in the antistatic bag or an
equivalent antistatic container when not installed.

muy sensible a las descargas de electricidad estática. Utilice la pulsera antiestática y tome todas
las precauciones necesarias durante este procedimiento. Si no lo hace, podría dañar el XFP ni el
