1 Connector J8 on the engine board—make sure that the
fuser drive motor cable is correctly connected to J8 on
the engine board. Go to

2 FRU replacement—replace the following FRUs in the
order shown:
1. "Fuser drive assembly removal" on page
2. "Engine board removal" on page

Black cartridge drive assembly
The black cartridge drive motor has either failed to lock or has lost lock.
Note: Any time any of the cartridge drive motor assemblies are replaced, perform the
page 3-16. If this procedure is not performed, error code 168 is displayed.
