    Installing an option card Function Adds an Ethernet or Token-Ring port so you can connect your printer to a network. Install a MarkNet™ N2501e or N2401e internal print server if you received either of these cards as part of a multifunction printer upgrade.

    Load paper Loading the 500-sheet trays Follow these instructions to load any of the 500-sheet trays. Remove the tray. Squeeze the front guide lever and slide the guide to the front of the tray. Squeeze the side guide lever and slide the guide to the correct position for the size paper you are loading.
  • Page 39 Maximum height guide Note: Do not exceed the maximum stack height indicated on the front guide. Overfilling the tray may cause jams. Flex the sheets back and forth to loosen them, and then fan them. Do not fold or crease the paper. Straighten the edges of the stack on a level surface.

    Reinstall the tray. Make sure the tray is pushed completely into the printer. Follow these instructions to load a 2000-sheet tray. Do not load any print media other than paper in the 2000-sheet tray.
  • Page 41 Squeeze the side guide lever, lift the guide, and place it into the appropriate slot for the size paper you are loading. Squeeze the two front guide levers and slide the guide to the correct position for the size paper you are loading.
  • Page 42 Straighten the edges of the stack on a level surface. Place the paper against the back left corner of the tray, print side down. Do not load bent or wrinkled paper. Close the tray. Make sure the tray is pushed completely into the printer.

    The printer then prompts you to load the appropriate print media before it prints. Follow these instructions to load the multipurpose feeder.

    Token-Ring, Ethernet 10BaseT, or Ethernet 100BaseTX networks (Category 5) use an RJ-45 connector. The Lexmark C750 can be attached to a network or locally (directly to a computer). You can attach your printer to a network using standard network cables.

    Lexmark C750n, Lexmark C750in, or Lexmark C750dn, you need a 1284 A-C parallel cable, such as Lexmark part number 43H5171 (9.8 ft), or a USB cable such as Lexmark part number 12A2405 (2 m). If you have installed an optional Tri-Port Adapter, you can locally attach the printer with a serial cable.

    Remove the shipping paper from the left access door. Hold down the lever and pull the paper out. Plug one end of the printer power cord into the socket at the back of the printer and the other end into a properly grounded outlet.

Specific information about installing the printer on your AppleTalk network can be found in the online documentation on the drivers CD that shipped with your printer.
  • Page 54 NetWare Install printer drivers You can find a Lexmark PPD Installer in the downloadable Web package available on the Lexmark Web site at www.lexmark.com. Depending upon which version of the drivers CD shipped with your printer, you may also find this software on the drivers CD. Launch the Lexmark PPD Installer and follow the instructions to install the PPDs.

    For printing instructions, launch the CD and then click Navigation. In addition to the Lexmark C750 Publications CD, your printer shipped with one or more quick reference cards. We recommend that you store these cards in their convenient printer pocket. You can attach the pocket to the printer or any flat surface near the printer.
