Viewfinder

Adjust the viewfinder display for sharper images by adjusting the diopter, as
follows.

Shooting Modes

Use the mode dial to access each shooting mode.
P, Tv, Av, M, C1, and C2 Modes
Take a variety of shots using your
preferred settings (= 1 13, 149).
Auto Mode
Fully automatic
shooting, with camera-
determined settings
(= 2 2, 46).
Movie Digest Mode
You can make a short movie of a
day just by shooting still images
(= 8 6).
Scene Mode
Shoot with optimal settings for
specific scenes (= 8 9).

Activate the viewfinder.

Press the <l> button repeatedly until
the viewfinder goes on (= 4 3).

Adjust the diopter.

As you look through the viewfinder, turn
the dial one way or the other so that
images look sharp.
Movie Mode
For shooting movies
(= 1 08).
You can also shoot
movies when the
mode dial is not
set to Movie mode,
simply by pressing
the movie button.
Creative Filters Mode
Add a variety of effects
to images when shooting
(= 9 2).
