Field Name Field Description
Memory buffers (mbufs) are 128-byte buffers that are used for various purposes inside the kernel.
mbufs in use
Each memory buffer has a type, and the output itemizes the amount allocated for each type. Types
with no memory buffers allocated are not displayed.
mbufs allocated to Number of memory buffers currently holding packet headers
packet headers
mbufs allocated to Number of memory buffers currently holding state for sockets.
control blocks
mbufs allocated to send Number of memory buffers currently holding socket send data.
