CAUTION
Click clamps become unserviceable
during removal. Do not attempt to refit
them.
Do not replace a click clamp you have
removed with a screw clamp or with
other types of clamps.
CAUTION
Proceed with care to avoid damage to
joint components.
Apply the pliers to the head of the click
u
clamp, forcing until release.
SCREW CLAMPS
Screw clamps are removed and installed
using a common screwdriver.
CAUTION
Check the conditions of the clamp and
if necessary replace it with a new one of
the same type and size, available from
aprilia Official dealer.
When fastening the clamp, make sure
that the joint is sufficiently stable.

CHECKING AND TOPPING UP
ENGINE OIL LEVEL
Read page 44 (ENGINE OIL) and page
59 (MAINTENANCE) carefully.
NOTE
Halve maintenance intervals if
the vehicle is used in rainy or dusty
conditions, on rough roads or for racing.
Periodically check engine oil level, change
oil after the first 1000 km (625 mi) and
every 10000 km (6250 mi) afterwards, see
page 65 (CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND
THE ENGINE OIL FILTER).
CAUTION
In the vehicle is used for racing, change
the engine oil every 5000 km (3125 mi).
Change oil more frequently if the
vehicle is used in dusty conditions.

Check oil level as follows:
Engine oil level must be checked when
the engine is warm. If level is checked
from cold, oil level may have dropped
temporarily below the "MIN" mark.
This is not a problem, as long as the
engine oil pressure warning light ""
(A) does not come on, see page16
(INSTRUMENTS AND INDICATORS
TABLE).
