Check that the electrodes and
the insulator of the spark plug do
not show traces of carbon de-
posits and of corrosion. If re-
quired, clean them using a com-
pressed air jet.
Replace the spark plug if its insulator is
cracked, the electrodes show signs of
corrosion or excessive deposits, or the
top (6) of the central electrode (3) gets
rounded.
CAUTION
WHEN REPLACING THE
PLUG (2), CHECK THE PITCH AND
LENGTH OF THE THREAD. IF THE
THREADED PART IS TOO SHORT,
CARBON DEPOSITS WILL BUILD UP
ON THE THREAD'S SEAT AND MAY
THUS CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EN-
GINE WHEN THE CORRECT THREA-
DED PART IS INSTALLED. USE REC-
OMMENDED SPARK PLUGS ONLY.
USING A SPARK PLUG OTHER THAN
SPECIFIED MIGHT COMPROMISE EN-
GINE PERFORMANCE AND LIFE.
CHECK THE GAP BETWEEN THE
ELECTRODES WITH A
GAUGE TO AVOID DAMAGING THE
PLATINUM COATING.

punt (6), moet de bougie vervangen wor-
den.
