2.5 Preventing injuries

2.5.1 Preventing bruising

WARNING
Hazards by moving parts.
Impacts by ejected objects coming into contact with moving parts could result in death or
serious injuries and property damage.
u When the engine is running, avoid any contact with moving parts.
u It is forbidden to throw any object into the engine while running.

2.5.2 Preventing burns

WARNING
Contact with hot parts!
Risk of injury by burn.
The Engine Control Unit (ECU) is hot while operating the engine.
u Observe local regulations, site rules, and safety notes.
u When the engine is in operation, avoid any contact with the ECU.
u Before servicing the engine, let it cool down until the surface temperature allows you to
touch it with bare hands.
u Wear proper personal protective equipment.
