5.6.1 Inspecting engine overall condition — SL0-1011

Make sure that the following preconditions are met:

Visual inspection
To prevent engine damage, visually inspect the engine by performing the following tasks:
– Search for possible leaks
– Search for loose components
Fig. 37: Hoses
The lines and hoses must be free of the following defects:
– Damage to the outer layer (for example: scratches, cuts, and tears)
– Embrittlement of the outer layer (for example: crack formation in the material)
– Deformation of the hose or line, taking into account depressurized and pressurized condi‐
tions of the hose or line, as well as bends (for example: delamination, blister formation)
– Leaks
– Damage or deformation to fittings
– Dislocation of hoses from fittings
– Corrosion on fittings
