Information
Actual number of fuel filters depends on engine configuration.
u Clean sealing area.
u Open fuel filter 2 with filter ribbon spanner.
u Remove filter.
u Repeat procedure for all filters.
u Dispose of the old fuel main filters.
Installation
u Clean sealing area.
u Lubricate filter seal 3 with clean, fresh engine oil.
u Screw fuel filter 2 in filter head 1 until it contacts base.
u Tighten filter by hand by 3/4 to 1 turn.
u Repeat procedure for all filters.
u Check for leaks and damage.
u Retighten if necessary.
Bleeding fuel system
High-pressure build-up in the injection system is necessary to start and run the engine. The
fuel system uses an automatic bleed line that allows fuel and air to flow back to the tank.
Trapped air in the fuel system prevents the high-pressure build-up and may lead to failed starts
or poor running conditions.
