Notes on operating fluids
& WARNING Risk of injury due to harmful
operating fluids
Operating fluids can be toxic.
When using, storing and disposing of
#
operating fluids, observe the imprints on
the respective original containers.
Always keep operating fluids in the
#
sealed original container.
Always keep children away from operat-
#
ing fluids.

ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE Pollution of the
environment due to irresponsible disposal
of operating fluids
Incorrect disposal of operating fluids can
cause considerable damage to the environ-
ment.
Dispose of operating fluids in an environ-
#
mentally responsible manner.
Operating fluids include the following:
fuels

®
DeNOx agent AdBlue
for exhaust gas after-

treatment
lubricants
R
Coolant
R
Brake fluid
R
windscreen washer fluid
R
climate control system refrigerant
R
Only use products approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Damage caused by the use of products that have
not been approved is not covered by the
Mercedes-Benz warranty or goodwill gestures.
The operating fluids approved by Mercedes-Benz
can be identified by the following inscriptions on
the container:
MB-Freigabe (e.g. MB-Freigabe 229.51)

MB-Approval (e.g. MB-Approval 229.51)

& WARNING Risk of fire or explosion from
fuel
Fuels are highly flammable.
Fire, naked flames, smoking and creating

sparks must be avoided.
Before and during refuelling, switch off
#
the vehicle and, if fitted, the stationary
heater.
& WARNING Risk of injury from fuels
Fuels are poisonous and hazardous to your
health.
Do not swallow fuel or let it come into
#
contact with skin, eyes or clothing.
Do not inhale fuel vapour.
#
Keep children away from fuel.
#
Keep doors and windows closed during
#
the refuelling process.
